Issues Of 2 KPK Leaders Joining In Extortion Cases At The Ministry Of Agriculture, KPK Spokesperson: Ask Polda Metro Jaya
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) does not want to talk much about the news that its two leaders are entangled in extortion cases at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). The KPK said the Polda Metro Jaya should explain.
It is known that Firli Bahuri, who is now temporarily dismissed as Chairman of the KPK, is a suspect in the alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities from former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo who was investigated by Polda Metro Jaya. Then, it was widely reported that other leaders were following in his footsteps.
"So far there has been no information. Please ask the Polda Metro Jaya," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters quoted on Wednesday, November 29.
Ali emphasized that the extortion case was not handled by his institution. Thus, the anti-corruption commission does not know the extent of the investigation.
"If it is handled by us, we will definitely tell you the extent of the progress of handling cases carried out by the KPK as a form of transparency in the work of the KPK," he said.
"We must have published everything as long as it didn't interfere with the investigation process," Ali continued.
