Successfully Suppressing The COVID-19, Bima Arya Extends Odd-Even License Plate Policy In Bogor City From 09.00-18.00

JAKARTA - The Bogor City Government and the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) decided to extend the odd-even license plate policy for motorized vehicles on weekends in Bogor City.

This decision was taken after the same policy gave a positive result in reducing positive cases of COVID-19.

"At the meeting forum, we agreed to continue the odd-even license plate policy for motorized vehicles on weekends, but the implementation is limited from 09:00 a.m. to 18.00 p.m. local time", Bogor Mayor Bima Arya said after the Forkopimda meeting, reported by Antara, Tuesday, February 16.

According to Bima Arya, the meeting with Forkopimda Bogor was discussing some odd-even license plate implementation data as well as the implementation of the Enforcement of Micro-Based Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) at the neighborhoods level in Bogor City.

"From the data analysis, the implementation of the two policies has proven to be effective in reducing positive cases of COVID-19 in Bogor City", he said.

Apart from the odd-even license plate policy, the meeting also discussed the impact of policies on the economic sector, which has experienced a decline. So, Bima Arya continued, it was agreed that the operational hours were extended.

For example, snack places, restaurants, restaurants, and cafes, whose operating hours were originally until 19:00 p.m., were extended to 21:00 p.m. local time.

"We are trying to maintain a balance between health and economic aspects so that both can be improved", he said.

Based on daily COVID-19 data at the Bogor City Health Office, positive cases of COVID-19 in Bogor City have continued to decline, since Saturday, February 6 there were 187 cases, until Monday (15/2) yesterday to 105 cases.

According to him, the decline in positive cases of COVID-19 was followed by a high cure rate for positive COVID-19 patients, so that the number of positive COVID-19 patients in hospitals also decreased.

With these considerations, he said, Bogor City Forkopimda agreed to continue the odd-even license plate policy for motorized vehicles every weekend.
