KPK Reminds Criminal Threats For Individuals Who Eliminate Social Assistance Procurement Documents

JAKARTA - Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Karyoto emphasized that state documents including social assistance procurement documents at the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) must be kept in their place, not to be lost or even removed.

The KPK reminded that anyone who deliberately removes these documents could be subject to criminal sanctions.

This was conveyed by Karyoto regarding the possibility of certain parties trying to disappear evidence related to the bribery for the provision of COVID-19 social assistance (bansos) in the Jabodetabek area.

"In principle, if that is a state document, it must be in place, like at the Ministry of Social Affairs, a state document as an accountability time must exist. Unless he removes an article himself later, so we are not worried about it," said Karyoto to reporters at the building. Red and White of the KPK, Kuningan Persada, Tuesday, February 16.

He emphasized that his staff are focused on investigating and developing the case that has ensnared former Social Minister (Mensos) Juliari Peter Batubara. Not only that, he also said that the KPK might ensnare other parties in this case as long as sufficient preliminary evidence is found.

Previously reported, the KPK also named four other suspects in the social assistance bribery case apart from Juliari Batubara. They are Commitment Making Officers at the Ministry of Social Affairs (PPK) MJS and AW as recipients of bribes and AIM and HS as givers of bribes.
