Sri Mulyani Says That The National Army And Police Force Play Important Role In Economic Stability Amid The COVID-19 Pandemic

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that the National Army and Police Force are two institutions that play an important role in maintaining stability and sustainable development in Indonesia.

"In order for the vaccination program to run until it reaches herd immunity, support from all parties is needed. I think the National Army and Police Force will be an institution that will be relied on to carry out many tasks, starting from maintaining health protocols to the continuity and success of the vaccination program", she said in an official statement, Tuesday, February 16.

In addition to strengthening defense capacity, these two institutions are trusted by the Minister of Finance to encourage orderliness in priority development areas with the hope of having a positive impact in the process of general economic recovery.

"The National Army and Police Force play a strategic role in creating economic stability, and this is a step called a necessary condition, an initial condition that must be met before we can create development and people's welfare", she said.

On this occasion, Sri Mulyani also revealed that the budget of the Ministry of Defense/The National Army and Police always has a very high priority in the State Budget so that it can be spent together to achieve national goals.

"Our challenge in the future is to keep our economy and our country be able to cope with the pandemic, because if this is not handled, then it could become a threat in the socio-economic field and even the defense and security of the country", she said.

"Support from the National Army and Police Force is very important so that the Indonesian economy and state can continue to develop and progress to become a high-income country", concluded the Minister of Finance.
