Minister Of Social Affairs Risma, It Has Been A Year That The Heir Of COVID Victims In Central Jakarta Has Not Received Compensation

JAKARTA - At least 120 families of victims died due to COVID-19 in Central Jakarta, so far they have not received compensation from the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) of IDR 15 million per family.

Head of the Central Jakarta Social Service (Sudinsos), Ngapuli Parangin-Angin, said that the compensation has been submitted in stages since 2020.

"So, this is from April last year (2020), we have submitted it in stages. Until now, 120 who have become the heirs of the COVID-19 victims have not yet received it. We have submitted it and so far it has not been disbursed," said Ngapuli when contacted. Between, Tuesday, February 16.

The man who is familiarly called Apul said that the conditions needed for the families of COVID-19 victims or their heirs to get compensation were to provide data to the Central Jakarta Social Sub-Department, in the form of a certificate from the hospital, an heir certificate and account numbers.

However, after 120 heirs in Central Jakarta submitted there has been no follow up from the Ministry of Social Affairs, which is now led by Tri Rismaharini (Risma) for the disbursement of compensation.

"I have asked whether there are still or not? They do not dare to answer. That is the answer from the Ministry of Social Affairs. But the important thing is we have made efforts," said Apul.

Apul hopes that there will be clarity regarding the provision of compensation so that residents who have been waiting for almost a year will have certainty.

"I emphasize, because we are in touch with the community. If it is not there, please say no. If it is still there, then give certainty when it will be given. Because of this, the community is still hopeful, because they have submitted it, they need certainty," concluded Apul .
