Even Though It Is Declared Negative For COVID-19, The Patient's Specimen In Cianjur Will Be Rechecked

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) confirmed that one person who died in Cianjur, West Java did not contract the corona virus or COVID-19. This statement also straightens information about the existence of a person with an indication of the COVID-19 virus who died in Cianjur, West Java.

To reporters at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Secretary of the Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Achmad Yurianto said the person who died was not infected with COVID-19.

Furthermore, in a press conference at the Ministry of Health's Office, the spokesperson for handling COVID-19 said the Ministry of Health would double-check the specimens used.

The goal is to further confirm the cause of death is not due to the virus that spread from Wuhan City, China. Moreover, during the research process the Ministry of Health Balitbangkes did not identify individuals but specimens sent from Cianjur, West Java.

"I will check later. Has this specimen from Cianjur been submitted? If it has been submitted, I will ask, is it a specimen from the person who died," Yuri told reporters at the Ministry of Health's Office, Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Tuesday, March 3rd.

He explained, as many as 155 specimens brought in from Cianjur for testing were confirmed to be negative for COVID-19.

Previously, it was reported that a patient with a status indicated to have contracted COVID-19 who had been treated at Dr. Hafidz Hospital (RSDH) Cianjur, West Java, died after being isolated since Sunday, March 1.

This 50-year-old man is registered as a resident of Bekasi, West Java and previously visited Malaysia. This company employee died on Tuesday, March 3 at around 04.00 WIB.
