Police Arrested Trans-Provincial Car Thieves Group, Two Of Them Were Shot In The Leg
JAKARTA - The Cirebon City Police (Police Resort), West Java Police, arrested a gang of thieves who specialized in cross-province motor vehicles, and two of them were shot for trying to fight back.
"In one conspiracy there were four people who were arrested", said Head of Cirebon City Police AKBP Imron Ermawan, in Cirebon, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, February 16.
Imron said the four suspects arrested had their respective roles, such as initial US and AR. The two men are the main suspects, because both of them stole the car.
He said the two suspects had committed their crimes in several locations, such as Semarang, Cirebon City, Jakarta and Bekasi.
The vehicle that was stolen was only a car, either a minibus or pickup. Both of them only took 15 minutes to take the victim's car away.
"You could say they are specialists in car thieves across provinces", said Imron.
According to him, when they were about to be arrested, two suspects tried to fight the officers, so that both were shot in the legs.
"Because we are trying to fight back, then we give a firm measure of action on the feet", he said.
Meanwhile, the other two suspects are custodians of the proceeds of crime, where every time they get a stolen car they are immediately thrown at the two people for IDR 20 million per unit.
Imron added that from the suspects, his party confiscated several items which were used as evidence, including the key Letter T, four cars and keys and others.
"We are subject to Article 367 KUP and 480 KUHP suspects with a maximum imprisonment of 7 years", he said.
