Crowded About 2 Cars Using 1 E-Money Card On The Trans Sumatra Toll Road Being Fined, This Is Hutama Karya's Explanation
BANDAR LAMPUNG - PT Hutama Karya provided clarification regarding the granting of fines on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road for the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar section of Lampung.
"We are clarifying the granting of fines to toll road users on the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar section," said Executive Vice President of the Corporate Secretary of PT Hutama Karya Muhammad Fauzan as quoted by Antara, Monday, February 15.
This incident occurred on Sunday, February 14th at 15.47 WIB. The group of vehicles consisting of Hyundai minibuses and Carry minibuses with number plates BE 1802 BO crossed the Bacter Toll by entering through the Lematang Toll Gate using the same 1 electronic money card.
Furthermore, the two vehicles then exited the toll road through the Sidomulyo Toll Gate.
However, only the first vehicle, the Hyundai minibus, managed to exit. Meanwhile, the second vehicle, the Carry minibus, cannot show proof of entering the toll road upon exit.
Therefore, the Carry vehicle is subject to a fine in accordance with Government Regulation No. 15 of 2005 concerning toll roads, where vehicles that cannot show proof of toll road entry at the time of payment are subject to a fine of 2 times the farthest distance fare. In that incident, the farthest distance fare is the gate. The Bakauheni toll road to the Kayu Agung Toll Gate with a total of Rp. 283,000, so the total of 2 times the farthest distance tariff is Rp. 566,000.
According to him, the first vehicle carrying sick passengers was invited by the toll officials to leave the gate to the hospital.
However, the vehicle insisted on waiting for the second vehicle, namely Carry, to complete the payment of the fine so that it could leave the toll gate, so that it could continue the journey together.
The company cannot pass the second vehicle because it is not a priority emergency vehicle such as an ambulance.
Fauzan explained that the payment of fines made by the second vehicle should be paid in cash. However, because the driver does not carry cash, the payment is made by transfer in accordance with applicable regulations.
Regarding the electronic money card that can be used by two vehicles when entering, Fauzan said it could be caused by a system error in the card transaction.
"Hutama Karya apologizes for the inconvenience that has occurred, but the company always ensures to provide the best service, especially for road users on every toll road it manages. Hutama Karya also appealed to all toll road users to always be careful and vigilant in driving, and to follow the rules and regulations that apply on toll roads, "said Fauzan.
