16 People Are Still On The Searching Process Due To Floods And Landslides In Nganjuk

SURABAYA - Floods and landslides occurred in three sub-districts in Nganjuk Regency, East Java. Dozens of people are missing and are still being searched.

"There are about 16 people who have not been found so far, they are still in the searching process. Then there are 14 people who have been evacuated with minor injuries", said the Head of the East Java Regional Disaster Management Agency Emergency Section, Satriyo Nurseno, Monday, February 15.

The three districts that were hit by the flood are Berbek District, Nganjuk District, and Loceret District.

The water level in Berbek District is even up to 2.5 meters. Meanwhile, landslides occurred in Selopuro, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency.

"Hopefully, officers can find those who are missing soon", he said.

The East Java Regional Disaster Management Agency has sent support for TRC personnel as well as equipment and logistics for the Nganjuk Disaster. Namely, a set of communication devices, a rubber boat unit, and 4 sets of PPE. Meanwhile, the East Java Social Service has sent Logistic Assistance for the Nganjuk Disaster in the form of 200 packages of children's food, 200 sheets of mattresses, 50 packages of kids ware, 120 packages of ready-to-eat food, 50 sheets of blankets.

"The East Java Regional Disaster Management Agency has also sent Team II to support landslide handling in Ngetos, by bringing equipment and logistics in the form of 4 sets of PPE, 1 unit of communication devices, 120 packages of side dishes and 120 packages of additional nutrition", he said.
