Dandim Supports Police To Investigate TNI Personnel Allegedly Involved In 'Illegal Logging' In West Kalimantan
KAPUAS HULU - Dandim 1206 Putussibau Lt. Col. Inf. Jemi Oktis Oil supported the legal process for individual members of Subdenpom Putussibau with the initials WD in illegal logging activities. This case was handled by the Kapuas Hulu Police, West Kalimantan.
"We support the investigation process by the police regarding the suspicion of WD's involvement in illegal logging activities", said Lt. Col. Jemi Oktis Oil, quoted by Antara, Sunday, February 14.
According to Jemi, based on the information from Dan Subdenpom (Military police), WD came to the illegal logging location to buy wood materials for building houses.
When WD came to the location of the pile of wood in the village of Nanga Awin Putussibau Utara, there were already forestry officers. Because the forestry officials were not allowed to do so, WD went home.
"According to Dan Subdenpom, WD had arrived home when the forestry official's car fire occurred", explained Jemi.
He emphasized that if WD is involved in illegal logging activities, it will be dealt with strictly according to the applicable regulations.
"We are ready to present the person concerned if a police officer is required to provide information, which is clear that we are pushing for the process handled by the police", said Jemi.
The forestry official's car on fire took place on Saturday, February 13 at the border of Nanga Awin and Sibau Hilir Villages
The car was allegedly deliberately set on fire by certain parties, while forestry officers were carrying out a patrol of illegal logging activities in the area.
