Most Congested In Sumatra, Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road Is Crossed By 16,000 Vehicles Per Day
JAKARTA PT Hutama Karya (Persero) noted that vehicle traffic on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) Pekanbaru-Dumai section was the most populous until October 31, 2023.
Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said the average daily traffic (LHR) of the Permai Toll Road reached 16,000 vehicles.
"The high traffic is supported by the high interest of the people of Riau Province to shorten their travel time to work or to just take a vacation on weekends," said Tjahjo, quoted from Hutama Karya's official website, Wednesday, November 8.
It is known, the total number of vehicles crossing the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road reached around 28.58 percent of the total JTTS LHR until the October 2023 period which reached 56,000 vehicles.
He said traffic in other sections was still quite stable, such as in the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung section as many as 14,000 vehicles, Palembang-Indralaya sections as many as 8,400 vehicles, and Binjai-Langsa sections as many as 8,200 vehicles.
Then, for the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang section as many as 4,700 vehicles, as many as 3,000 Sigli-Banda Aceh vehicles, and the Bengkulu-Taba Penjung Toll Road as many as 1,500 vehicles.
For your information, the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road will begin in July 2017 with a government assignment scheme to PT Hutama Karya worth IDR 16.21 trillion.
This toll road has been operating for three years since it was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on September 25, 2020.

The Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road consists of six (6) sections, namely Section I Pekanbaru-Minas with a length of 9.5 km, Section II Minas-Pemahan with a length of 24.1 km, and Section III Petapahan-North Kandis with a length of 16.9 km.
Then, Section IV of the North-South Duri Office for 26.25 km, Section V for South Duri-North Duri for 29.4 km, and Section VI for North Duri-Dumai for 25.44 km.
This toll road is also equipped with 10 resting places and services (TIP), consisting of 5 TIPs towards Pekanbaru City and 5 other TIPs towards Dumai City.
