JAKARTA - The allocation of the state revenue and expenditure budget (APBN) for infrastructure development in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in 2021 is valued at Rp.149.8 trillion, or an increase of 12 percent.

"The PUPR Ministry's State Budget ceiling for infrastructure development in NTT has risen to 129.3 percent year on year (yoy)," said Head of NTT Bank Indonesia (BI) I Nyoman Ariawan Atmaja in a statement received in Kupang, reported by Antara, Friday, February 12th.

He explained that the increase in the APBN allocation was mainly driven by the development of infrastructure for national strategic projects in this island-based province.

Ariawan gave an example such as the construction of the Temef Dam in South Central Timor Regency, the Napun Gete Dam in Sikka Regency, the Manikin Dam in Kupang Regency.

In addition, the construction of Kupang Port, a multipurpose terminal, Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport, Atambua National Strategic Area Center (PKSN) in Belu Regency, as well as the construction and improvement of national roads.

Ariawan said that the increase in the state budget allocation for infrastructure development has provided optimism for NTT's economic recovery which will increase in 2021.

He said that infrastructure development is a construction business sector which is one of the pillars of economic recovery in NTT this year.

In addition to national strategic projects, he continued, the improvement in the performance of the construction business field was also driven by the continuation of provincial road improvements financed by APBN transfer funds and regional government loans to PT SMI.

He added that in 2021 the provincial government will also carry out development in the field of water resources such as irrigation, reservoirs, and drinking water supply systems.
