Coal Transportation Prohibited From Passing In Jambi Starting Tomorrow

JAMBI - The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Jambi Police has temporarily suspended coal transportation via national roads in Jambi starting Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

"Starting tomorrow, Wednesday (November) at 00.00 WIB, there will be no more coal transportation coming out of the mouth of the mine entering the national road through the tayang duku port," said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Jambi Police, Police Commissioner Dhafi in Jambi, Tuesday, November 7, quoted by Antara.

Dhafi said that the temporary suspension of coal traffic was in response to requests from the Jambi National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) due to the construction of roads along Muaro Bulian-Tembesi, precisely in Sridadi Village, Batanghari Regency.

In addition, this temporary suspension also responded to requests from the public regarding long queues and congestion that occurred due to coal transportation traffic in the area during the road construction process.

He emphasized that this temporary suspension only applies to coal transportation passing on Jalan Muaro Bulian-Tembesi in Sridadi Village, while coal transportation from Muaro Jambi to Talang Duku Port continues to operate as usual.

This temporary suspension, he said, also does not apply to coal transportation traffic from Sarolangun and Tebo to West Sumatra.

"This only applies to the traffic of coal cars passing through Sridadi Village, Batanghari. Apart from that, it remains as usual," he explained.

The dismissal of coal traffic is valid until an undetermined time limit of looking at the situation and development of road work in the field.
