JAKARTA - The Petak Sembilan Market has always been a place visited by the public ahead of the Chinese New Year celebrations. This Nine Plot area is located on Jalan Kemenangan Raya, Glodog, Tamansari, West Jakarta. The Dharma Bhakti Temple or Klenteng was built in 1650 by a Chinese Lieutenant named Kwee Hoen and named Kwan Im Teng (Koan lm Pavilion) which was later absorbed into a temple. Dharma Bhakti Temple is the oldest temple in Jakarta besides Ancol Temple. In 1755, this Dharma Bhakti Temple was renovated by Captain Oei Tjhie and named Kim Tek Ie or Temple of Golden Virtue. The land area reached 3,000 square meters at that time.
