Nurhadi’s Luxurious IDR 45.5 Billion Watch Which Was Bought By Iwan Liman
JAKARTA - A watch shop owner named Marietta said there were two luxury watches purchased from her shop for former Supreme Court Secretary Nurhadi paid by businessman Iwan Liman.
"On December 16, 2015, there was a purchase of a watch from the Audemars Piguet brand for Mr. Nurhadi because he wanted to try wearing a 'Tourbillon' watch, where do you know this from?", asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) public prosecutor (JPU) Wawan Yunarwanto at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor), reported by Antara, Thursday, February 11.
Marietta, who was presented as a witness, answered that the purchase request was made via phone call. The witness admitted that she had informed that the shop had a collection of Audemars Piguet watch and offered this watch to Nurhadi's son-in-law (Rezky Herbiyono).
"Yes, he asked me by phone as far as I can remember. I offered him, 'We have this watch', he (Rezky) said he wanted to wear a watch", Marietta replied
Marietta was testified for two defendants, namely former Supreme Court Secretary, Nurhadi, and his son-in-law, Rezky Herbiyono, who were charged with accepting bribes totaling IDR 45.726 billion from the President Director of PT Multicon Indrajaya Terminal (MIT) 2014-2016 Hiendra Soenjoto and gratuities of IDR 37.287 billion from a number of parties during his period from 2014 to 2017.
The prosecutor asked the witness that the price of the watch was IDR 2.53 billion and had been paid in full by Iwan. "Yes", Marietta replied.
Attorney Wawan again asked why Iwan was paid and the witness answered that if Rezky had not paid him then he liked to ask Iwan Liman to pay for it.
"Iwan himself told me that the watch purchase transaction was for the father", said Marietta.
According to Marietta, the price of the watch is IDR 2.7 billion split into 4 payments, namely IDR 235 million, IDR 1 billion, IDR 1 billion, and IDR 465 million.
"Because I know that he (Rezky) and Iwan are close, sometimes Rezky is difficult to be contacted, so I usually go through Iwan. 'Wan, please ask Rezky for the payment', then sometimes Iwan paid first. I don't know whether Rezky asked Iwan to pay it first and then he pay to Iwan later, what's important is the watch is paid", added Marietta.
Marietta also said that Iwan paid Richard Mille RM 11 Asia Boutique Rose Gold worth IDR 1.85 billion, which Rezky asked to give to Nurhadi.
Iwan Liman paid it on October 13, 2015, in three transactions, namely IDR 500 million, IDR 700 million, and IDR 500 million, bringing the total to IDR 1.85 billion.
In the indictment, Iwan Cendekia Liman is said to be the person who lent IDR 10 billion to Rezky on June 19, 2015, for the handling of the PT Multicon Indrajaya Terminal (MIT) case. On this statement, Rezky also denied this.
"My dad doesn't like Rose Gold watches and my dad never bought it from me and let alone Iwan Liman paid it. Iwan Liman's great. There is no purchase for him", said Rezky.
Nurhadi also strongly denied Marietta's statement. "I strongly argue, this is slander. Frankly, I will take legal action for mentioning my name. I have never bought a used or new watch at the shop, I don't know the shop. I did buy the Richard Mille RM011 but I bought it at the official boutique at Plaza Indonesia", said Nurhadi.
The panel of judges who tried Nurhadi was led by the chairman of the panel of judges, Saefudin Zuhri, while the member judges were Duta Baskara and Sukartono.
