The KPK Denies That Investigators Have Abandoned Search Permits In The Social Assistance Bribery Case And The Export Of Benur
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed a report from the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) to the Supervisory Board regarding the alleged abandonment of the search permit in cases of bribery of fries or lobster seeds and bribery of social assistance procurement (bansos).
"After we checked properly there was a report on the complaint in question," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in his written statement, Thursday, February 11.
The KPK admits that there is no problem with the reports submitted by MAKI. Ali also mentioned that the reporting was part of the community's role in overseeing the case handling process.
Even if the news about a search is not very busy in the media, he said, this is because each investigation process does not need to be conveyed in detail as an investigation strategy.
Even so, Ali denied that the investigators in the two cases that ensnared the former Minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet had been neglected. This is because the KPK always carries out case investigations in accordance with applicable regulations.
"However, we also need to convey that we ensure that all process of resolving cases by the KPK always follows the applicable legal rules," he said.
Previously reported, MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman reported the KPK investigator who handled the bribery case that ensnared the former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo and Minister of Social Affairs Juliari Peter Batubara.
Boyamin said this report was submitted by email to the complaint address dewas@kpk.go.id on Wednesday, February 10.
"We are complaining that investigators of the corruption case on the export of lobster fry from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries with the suspect, Edhy Prabowo and friends, are suspected of neglecting the search permit that was granted by the KPK and this allegedly happened in the handling of a corruption case in the distribution of basic food assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs with the suspect Juliadi Batubara and friends. -friend, "said Boyamin.
The suspicion of abandonment of the search permit was based on the monitoring he carried out from the mass media reports that had minimal reports of searches looking for evidence in the two cases.
In fact, Boyamin believes that the KPK Supervisory Board has granted many search permits in the two cases.
"If we may suspect, we estimate that there are dozens of search permits in the two cases, but until now there have not been any search activities properly, which has slowed the progress of handling the a quo case," he said.
Regarding this report, Boyamin asked the KPK Supervisory Board to immediately summon the investigating team in the case that ensnared Juliari and Edhy Prabowo. This is done to ensure that the search permit has been carried out.
