Bareskrim Consider Suspending Detention Of Muamalah Market Founder Zaim Saidi

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri will consider a postponement request submitted by the founder of Muamalah Market, Depok, Zaim Saidi. But the decision is entirely up to the investigators.

"Investigators have a consideration whether the suspension of detention is granted or not," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to reporters, Thursday, February 11.

Zaim Saidi's family has suspended the detention through his lawyer.

"Investigators have their own considerations whether or not to grant a request for suspension of a suspect," he said.

Zaim Saidi submitted a request for a suspension of detention at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit on Thursday 4 February. Lawyers and Zaim Saidi's wife are the guarantor of the suspension.

Zaim Saidi was previously arrested by the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes on February 2. In this case Zaim used the dinar and dirham as a substitute for the rupiah. In using the currency, he took a 2.5 percent profit.

Zaim was presumed by Article 9 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning criminal law and Article 33 Number 7 of 2011 concerning Currency.
