Woro-woro Ridwan Kamil For ASN West Java During Chinese New Year
JAKARTA - State Civil Servants (ASN) within the West Java Provincial Government are prohibited from traveling outside the city during the Lunar New Year holiday from Friday, February 12 to Sunday, February 14.
The ban aims to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 amid the pandemic. This prohibition is contained in Circular Number 30 / KS.02.02 / BKD concerning Restrictions on Travel Activities Outside the Region for State Civil Servants in the Regional Government of West Java Province During the Lunar New Year Holiday 2572 Kongzili during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
"We know for ourselves that the long holiday will always have an impact on the positive confirmed increase of COVID-19," said Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java Province Setiawan Wangsaatmaja in a written statement, Thursday, February 11.
In addition to prohibiting traveling out of town, he also appealed to ASN within the West Java Provincial Government to reduce mobility and avoid crowds. Moreover, ASN must be an example for society in handling COVID-19.
"In the context of handling COVID-19, this ASN must take part in maintaining the situation, especially in breaking the COVID-19 chain," he said.
Setiawan also said that the head of the regional apparatus was given the task of overseeing the implementation of the ban. For ASN who violate, later will be sanctioned by their leadership.
"If ASN violates, each leadership can impose sanctions. From mild to severe," he said.
Furthermore, Setiawan also appealed to people in West Java to celebrate Chinese New Year online and stay at home. Even if they are forced to leave the house because of a sudden need, they are asked to implement strict health protocols.
He also asked the public to understand if COVID-19 was not over and not careless in implementing health protocols. "If we are careless, positive cases of COVID-19 can increase," he said.
Complementing Setiawan's statement, Head of the West Java Provincial Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Ade Afriandi said that his party would involve the Community Protection Unit (Satlinmas) at the village / sub-district level to participate in monitoring community mobility during the Lunar New Year holidays.
Ade hopes that with the involvement of Satlinmas, community mobility can be suppressed so that the long holiday this time does not have an impact on the increase in COVID-19 cases.
"We will involve Satlinmas. They will monitor the mobility of people who enter and leave their environment," he concluded.
It is known, the prohibition of traveling out of town for ASN has been issued by the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPANRB) Tjahjo Kumolo. This rule is applied based on Circular Number 04 of 2021 concerning Limitation of Travel Activities Outside the Region for ASN Employees During the 2572 Kongzili Lunar New Year Holiday during the COVID-19 Pandemic Period.
