Out Of SF9 For Acting, Rowoon Calls It Not An Easy Choice
Rowoon opened its voice about leaving the K-pop group SF9 for the first time. 7 years together, the actor chose to go out to focus on acting, which further raised his name.
Rowoon confirmed that he left the group because of acting. Debut in 2017 through the 2017 School drama, Rowoon's acting began to be trusted so he got the lead role in some of the latest titles.
"I left the group because I wanted to be more serious about acting, and I wanted to be better there," Rowoon quoted SBS Star as saying.
He also understands that this decision is not easy, because many fans are disappointed with his choice. Moreover, Rowoon left the group after not participating in group activities for a long time.
"I understand some people will be disappointed with my decision. But I think disappointment is a burden on what I have to face. If I could make people understand my choice through acting, it would be a big step for me," he continued.
"Please understand, that this is not an easy decision for me," said the 27-year-old actor.
Leaving the group does not mean that Rowoon broke up with SF9 members. Through his latest drama, The Matchmakers, he also competed acting with Hwiyoung.
Hwiyoung is also in the drama, but we don't feel awkward at all. We talk and joke like we always do," said Rowoon.
Rowoon left the group on September 18 because he focused on acting. FNC Entertainment as the agency said that only Rowoon did not continue his contract as a member of SF9.
"Active in various activities makes me even harder with myself. There are times when I can't explain, and I'm frustrated. One day, my sincerity will come so I focus on what I do," Rowoon wrote in his statement.
If a fan is hurt and disappointed by my decision, I apologize. I will be 27 years old, and want to try something new. Please look forward to Kim Seokwoo in 27 years, and help me live the life I chose," he said.
Currently, Rowoon is starring in the drama The Matchmakers which aired on Monday, October 30 yesterday.
