JAKARTA PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) is ready to work on a new contract in the form of the Karangnongko Package 1 Dam project. This project will stem the Bengawan Solo river with its geographical location bordering Blora Regency, Central Java and Bojonegoro Regency, East Java.
Executive Vice President (EVP) of Hutama Karya's Corporate Secretary, Tjahjo Purnomo, said that the dam project was signed on Friday, September 22, 2023. The project worth IDR 730 billion is targeted for completion by the end of 2026.
As previously, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno made a working visit to initiate the construction of this project as well as a joint prayer at the location zero point on Thursday 19 October 2023.
"We will immediately start the work process and it is hoped that it can be completed on time according to plan," said Tjahjo in an official statement, Tuesday, October 31.
Tjahjo added that this project will later be used as a water reservoir during dry conditions by relying on the length of the Bengawan Solo (long storage) river which functions to supply water for irrigation areas covering an area of 6,900 Ha, as a raw water provider for the Bojonegoro, Blora, Tuban and Ngawi Regencies around 1.15 cubic meters per second and potentially as a 1 megawatt hydro power plant (PLTMH).
Furthermore, Tjahjo said the project, which was worked on through operational cooperation (KSO) with PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk and PT PP (Persero) Tbk (KSO Wika-HK-PP), technically has an inundation area of 1,026.55 Ha and an effective capacity of 59.1 million m3.
In this project, continued Tjahjo, Hutama Karya is responsible for soil excavation work, abundance concrete structure, hydromechanicals as well as the construction of a bailey bridge over the Delegating Structure (temporary bridges used for access roads for the work of the Main Dam pile).
"In the acceleration process, this project will implement BIM (Building Information Modeling) with a 3D model-based collaborative approach to planning, designing, building and managing construction in a more efficient way and empowering local energy absorption from local residents," said Tjahjo.
Tjahjo said this dam will also provide other benefits in the form of irrigation water supply which will be distributed through the Irrigation Area (DI) of Karangongko Kiri (Bora Regency) covering an area of 1,746 Ha with a discharge of 2.85 cubic meters per second. Also, DI Karangongko Kanan (Bojonegoro Regency) covering an area of 5,203 Ha with a discharge of 7.90 cubic meters per second.
