10 People Arrested After Stabbing Unpatti Students At The Ambon Red And White Bridge

AMBON - The police detained 10 youths after the stabbing of a student at the Faculty of Engineering at the Pattimura University in Ambon. The stabbing took place on the Red and White Bridge this morning.

"The victim who was stabbed to death in the left back is known as Husein Suat (23)," said the Head of Public Relations of the Ambon Island and Lease Islands Police, Iptu Izak Leatemia in Ambon, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 11.

After the stabbing incident, the police immediately moved to find the perpetrators. This case of abuse was reported by a witness named Aswinda.

Three youths were detained at the Ambon Bay Police and seven other youths were arrested at the Ambon Police Headquarters. The police are still conducting investigations to find out what roles they played in this incident, so that their status is that of the perpetrators of the attack.

This incident began with the victim who rode witness Aswinda and a number of other colleagues using three motorbikes leaving the Galunggung area to Waiheru at around 03.00 WIT, Thursday, February 11,

The purpose of the victim and his group was to meet and pick up their colleague named Gibran Tualeka (17) who, according to information, was beaten at Perumnas Waiheru Blok 3 Baguala District (Ambon City).

After arriving at Waiheru, they then looked for Gibran and the perpetrator of the beating. But the perpetrator was not found, so the witness and his other colleagues immediately went home.

"On their way home they were yelled at and cursed at by several youths who were hanging out at the LIPI bridge (left side of the direction of Waiheru)," said Leatemia.

There, quarrels and riots occurred. Meanwhile the victim and the reporter who rode were separated from the group.

"So they were chased and kicked until they fell and then beaten," explained Leatemia.
