U-17 National Team Wins 4-0 Against Moscow Torpedo, Bima Sakti Expresses Readiness for the FIFA U-17 World Cup

JAKARTA - The U-17 Indonesian national team managed to bag a big win when they met the Russian team, Torpedo Moscow U-17 with a final score of 4-0. The meeting between these two teams was a trial match for the U-17 national team ahead of the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in four cities in Indonesia.

The 4-0 victory achieved by the U-17 national team at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on Sunday, October 29 evening could not be separated from the contribution of Arkhan Kaka and Nabil Ashura, who each scored a brace.

With this victory, Bima Sakti as coach acknowledged that there had been an increase in the quality of the team, especially since this agenda had been planned before the U-17 national team left for Germany for training camp (TC).

“Yes, against Torpedo Moscow it was already on the agenda before we went to Germany that we would play against them. Yes, we accept it," said Bima Sakti after leading the U-17 national team training at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta on Monday, October 30 morning Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

"Coming home from Germany, we trained for two days and then prepared against Torpedo, thank God the players played optimally and we also tried several players in last night's match, thankfully the final score was 4-0," he continued regarding the match.

For Bima Sakti, the victory over Torpedo Moscow is a benchmark that the team is getting ready to face the U-17 World Cup. Because compared to several previous trials, the results this time show that the quality of the team is increasing.

"You can say by what percentage (for preparation) we have improved from the trials in August against Barcelona and Kashima Antlers. "This could also be proof that thank God the players look better," explained Bima Sakti.

The 2023 U-17 World Cup will be held in Indonesia as the host. Taking place in four cities, namely Jakarta, Badung, Solo and Surabaya, the matches will start from November 10 to December 2.

The Indonesian U-17 national team is in Group A along with Ecuador, Panama and Morocco. The U-17 national team will play the first match on November 10 against Ecuador.
