Public Service Workers Have Started Vaccination, Jokowi Requests To Prioritize The Elderly

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo reminded everyone, including regional heads, to prepare vaccination management carefully. This is because vaccination has been destined for public service workers and the elderly.

"Next week, we will start to vaccinate public services that are often in touch with the public, maybe people with high interactions with high mobility should take precedence, for example, the market", Jokowi said on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube channel, Thursday, February 11.

According to Jokowi, vaccines are prioritized for people who have high mobility because they are susceptible to contracting this virus. So, if they have been vaccinated, the test can be suppressed.

"Because we want to vaccinate the cluster, building boundaries so that communal immunity can be achieved, herd immunity can be achieved. For example, in a city, where the malls are full of people, including the employees because they are the ones who have a lot of contact with the visitors", said Jokowi.

Then, said Jokowi, in the public service group, there are also those who are prioritized, even becoming a priority for the recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine. Namely elderly public servants.

"So once again, this detailed planning must be started. We map out vaccines to come in large quantities. Don't forget that for the most vulnerable the elderly are a priority", said Jokowi.
