Akhyar Nasution Calculates Remaining Days Of Medan Mayor, Packed Ready To Leave
MEDAN - Acting Mayor of Medan Akhyar Nasution today was inaugurated as the definitive mayor. But his tenure is only a number of days.
Akhyar Nasution, who lost the Medan Pilkada to Bobby Nasution, the son-in-law of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), is already packing. Ready to say goodbye.
"Starting to select the items to be brought home," said Akhyar talking to reporters in Medan, Wednesday, February 10.
Akhyar Nasution's team has echoed the matter of inaugurating the mayor of Medan ahead of the 2020 simultaneous regional elections. But until the contestation was held on December 9, Akhyar Nasution had never received confirmation.
Until finally the North Sumatra Provincial Government (Pemprovsu) announced the agenda for the inauguration of Akhyar Nasution as the definitive mayor of Medan. It was only a matter of days before all the reins of leadership shifted to Bobby Nasution.
"After being inaugurated, the remaining two working days (on) February 15 and 16," he said. "Only two days as mayor," added Akhyar Nasution.
Akhyar Nasution, who is paired with Salman Alfarisi in the Medan Pilkada, still leaves one agenda, namely the settlement of election disputes at the Constitutional Court (MK). Akhyar contested the victory of Bobby Nasution who was paired with Aulia Rachman.
In their petition, the Akhyar Nasution-Salman Alfarisi pair argued that the vote acquisition of Bobby Afif Nasution-Aulia Rachman should be 340,327 votes, not 393,327 votes.
According to the petitioner for the difference in vote acquisition for the pair Bobby Afif Nasution-Aulia Rachman, it is suspected that the addition of 53,000 votes in 1,060 polling stations spread over 15 sub-districts, namely Medan, Medang Sunggal, Medan Helvetia, Medan Denai, West Medan, Medan Deli, Medan Tuntung, Medan Belawan, Medan Labuhan, Medan Polonia, Medan Baru, Medan Perjuangan, Medan Petisah, East Medan, and Medan Selayang.
The pair Bobby Afif Nasution-Aulia Rachman were also said to have violated the use of government structures by state officials at the central and regional levels.
Based on that argument, the petitioner asked for a re-vote in the 15 districts mentioned.
But unfortunately, Akhyar was not present at the first trial held at the Constitutional Court. Later, a summons came from the lawyer who accompanied Akhyar to challenge the results of the Medan Pilkada at the Constitutional Court.
