Just Salurkan Rp52 Trillion, BSI Genjot Pembiayaan Hijau
JAKARTA - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) continues to boost green economy.
BSI's Finance and Strategy Director, Ade Cahyo Nugroho, said that until now BSI's green financing has only reached Rp52.6 trillion from the total BSI financing. This amount is only 23.77 percent of BSI's total financing or grew 4.99 percent year on year (yoy).
"If today BSI talks about financing with all these criteria from Rp230 trillion in our financing, there are 52 trillion that we believe are relevant to practices that support green economy," said Ade at the CEO of Forum, Monday, October 23.
Ade said this amount was still quite small, for that he revealed that BSI would continue to boost green financing.
"Frankly, of the Rp52 trillion, most of it is social. There are still very few green ones," he added.
He gave an example of the financing being developed by BSI, namely cheaper motorcycle and electric cars financing or lending to PLN to build cheaper alternative energy.
Previously in his performance presentation, the President Director of BSI, Hery Gunardi said, to encourage the implementation of sustainable finance, Hery said that BSI also encourages sustainable operations through emission reduction and environmental conservation programs, including the green building office of the BSI Landmark Building in Aceh and the use of solar panels in BSI Mayestik and Mataram.
In addition, the acceleration of the implementation of the use of Battery-based Electric Motor Vehicles (KBLBB) by providing 35 electric motors for operational vehicles at the BSI rest area of the KM 166A, as well as paperless documents through the BSI e-doc.
As of June 2023, BSI has distributed zakat, infaq and virtue funds of Rp122.2 billion covering various socio-economic programs such as the construction of 15 BSI villages spread across 10 provinces.
