Defense Minister Prabowo Submits Leave For Presidential Election List To Jokowi

JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto applied for a work leave permit to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for the registration of presidential candidates at the General Elections Commission (KPU).

Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana in Jakarta, Friday (20/10), said Prabowo submitted two permits to the President through the Ministry of State Secretariat (Setneg) in Jakarta.

"The second letter is a letter of application for leave permit for the registration of presidential candidates," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 20.

However, the General Chairperson of Gerindra has not included a working leave date in the letter submitted to the State Secretariat.

"The time will be proposed," he said.

In addition to submitting work leave, said Ari Dwipayana, the State Secretariat has also received the first letter in the form of a request for approval from President Jokowi to be nominated by political parties and coalitions of political parties as presidential candidates.

Prabowo is promoted as a candidate for president in 2024-2029 by a number of political parties, including Gerindra, Golkar, Democrats, PAN, and the United Nations.
