JIS Will be Supplied with 4 Layers of Electricity During the U-17 World Cup

JAKARTA - PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) Jakarta Raya will supply electricity to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) for up to four layers during the U-17 World Cup.

General Manager of PLN UID Jakarta Raya Lasiran said this layered electricity supply was provided to ensure the football match ran smoothly.

"JIS itself will be supplied with 4 layers of electrical security to ensure reliable electricity during the match," said Lasiran in his statement, Wednesday, October 18.

Lasiran explained that his party also alerted 276 personnel, 7 units of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with a total power of 2,500 kVA, 4 units of Mobile Substations (UG) with a total power of 3,400 kVA, 1 unit of work team under voltage (PDKB), 1 unit of mobile crane, 5 units of engineering service cars (yantek), as well as 30 yantek motorbikes to secure electricity supply to JIS.

Then, PLN also prepared electricity supplies for 4 other locations which are training grounds for athletes, including the Madya Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, GBK ABC Field, Soemantri Brodjonegoro Sports Center, and also Banteng Field.

"PLN also continues to coordinate with JIS to ensure that electricity needs during the event can be fully supplied from PLN," he said.

The U-17 World Cup is scheduled to take place at four stadiums in Indonesia, namely JIS, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung, Manahan Stadium in Solo, and Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya from November 10 to December 2, 2023.

JIS will be the venue for Group C (Brazil, England, Iran, New Caledonia) and E (France, South Korea, United States, Burkina Faso) matches.

Apart from the group stage, JIS will also be used for two-round of 16 matches and two quarter-final matches. Therefore, Indonesia's opportunity to play at this venue is open if it can reach the knockout rounds.
