Member Of House Of Representatives From PKS Faction: Don't Let The Damages On Cipali Toll KM 122 Disturb Logistics Flow

JAKARTA - Member of Commission V House of Representatives (DPR RI), Syahrul Aidi Maazat wants the damages on the Cipali toll road to be repaired immediately so that it will not hamper the movement of very important logistics flows, especially during the current pandemic.

"This incident caused congestion and hampered the flow of logistics because currently, the Cipali Toll road can only be used by one lane", Syahrul Aidi Maazat explained quoted from Antara, Wednesday, February 10.

Syahrul said that the damages on the Cipali toll road are estimated to be due to high rainfall in the area so that toll road managers should have been able to anticipate from this information.

He also reminded that part of the Pantura route had also been cut off due to flooding, which resulted in the cutting off of the train line in Semarang.

This, he said, had an impact on increasing logistics costs and length of delivery, because the route that was still possible was the further southern route.

"It is feared that this series of events will cut off the logistics supply chain to Jakarta. Quick and precise action is needed by the government and current managers", said Syahrul Aidi.

Regarding the damages on the Cipali toll road, Syahrul Aidi asked the Government and managers to immediately investigate the cause, and make a study so that a similar incident could be anticipated and would not happen again in the future.

The study, he continued, includes the initial construction of the toll road which seems to be in a hurry.

As previously reported, a landslide occurred on Cikopo - Palimanan (Cipali) KM 122 towards Jakarta on Monday, February 8. This landslide was caused by the scouring of the road's slopes due to the high intensity of rain in West Java, causing the road to crack up to 40 meters long.

The Minister For Public Works and Human Settlements is currently handling the road subsidence on the Cikopo - Palimanan (Cipali) KM 122 heading to Jakarta.

"We are currently making a number of efforts to deal with the landslide, including the installation of sheet piles on the median side to protect lane A (from the direction of Jakarta to Semarang) and also to protect the potential for movement at the sliding site", said Director General of Highways Hedy Rahadian.

According to Hedy, to reduce the traffic load, 2 temporary lanes will also be built in the median (detour) along 200 meters from KM 122 + 300 to KM 122 + 500 with a processing time of 10 days.

Simultaneously with the construction of the temporary lane, the Minister For Public Works and Human Settlements asked for temporary access (sodetan) to reach the contraflow line A within 3 days. This Sodetan is targeted to be completed on Friday, February 12. Meanwhile, for further permanent handling, the collapsed road location will be closed for 1.5 months for repairs using bore piles to withstand landslides.

Hedy added, The Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT) has appointed consultants and contractors. They are currently preparing a mobile office or container and this Tuesday, they will start preparing for the detour and mobilizing tools and sheet piles.
