Geisha Bar In Cengkareng Is Permanently Closed Due To Violation Of COVID-19 Health Protocol

JAKARTA - The Geisha cafe and bar in East Cengkareng, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, was permanently closed by the DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) for violating health protocols.

The closure was carried out because the bar owners were not cooperative regarding operations during the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM). Bar owners also never obeyed the provisions after a warning from the authorities.

"We are calling regarding the miscommunication to resolve it to the Tourism and Creative Economy Service. However, the person concerned was not present at the summons," said Head of Enforcement of DKI Satpol PP Eko Saptono as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 9.

The Jakarta Satpol PP gave a recommendation to the DKI Jakarta's Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Parekraf) to impose permanent closing sanctions on Geisha cafes.

Finally, the cafe, located at Ruko Mutiara, Taman Palem block A17, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, was fitted with police line and a sealing banner. The owner, Johan, witnessed the sealing of the cafe.

Based on a decree from the DKI Parekraf Service, the Jakarta Satpol PP has permanently sealed the location.

This is in accordance with Regional Regulation 8 of 2007 concerning public order, and Regional Regulation 18 of 2018 concerning Tourism. In addition, the closure is also in accordance with the local regulation regarding PPKM for the prevention of COVID-19.
