Cherrybelle Is Formed To Carry A Less Genuine K-Pop Concept

Above is a snippet of the lyrics from the title song Beautiful which was popularized by Cherrybelle. The song is Cherrybelle's second single and was released in 2011.

Since then, you could say the K-Pop fever has started. After Cherrybelle, boy group singers and girl groups were increasingly emerging. Cherrybelle is one of the first generation girl groups besides 7icons. Even though the concept of their vocal group adopted Korean pop, it is not K-Pop-Kpop very much.

Cherrybelle was first formed today, February 27, 2011. This vocal group originally consisted of 9 people including Devi Noviaty, Yefany F, Christy Saura Noela Unu, Jessyca Stefani Auryn, Brigitta Cynthia, Cherly Yuliana Anggraini, Anisa Rahma, and Margareth Angelina UT. and who is now the wife of the artist Ruben Onsu, Sarwendah Tan. But lately, these formations often change due to personnel circulation.

Meanwhile, the names of the Cherrybelle members are all given the affix Chibi which stands for Cherry Belle itself, and also means small and cute.

This girl group that carries the Korean pop genre first debuted on the music show Inbox on June 18, 2011. They performed their first single, Dilema which was also the hit single from their mini album.

As long as the vocal group was established, they have released four albums including Beautiful (2012), EP Diam Diam Suka (2013), Reborn (2015), and Cherrybelle Compilation Album (2016).

Change members

Even though they carry the K-Pop concept, they are not genuine. They seem to have broken K-Pop's unwritten rules of never changing members. For fear of being considered less cohesive and disloyal.

But Cherrybelle, after two of its members left, a few months later instead held a talent search event and recruited new members, namely Kezia and Steffy.

In October 2013, a member of Cherrybelle Anisa also followed in the footsteps of Devi and Sarwendah. He resigned because he wanted to continue his studies which had been suspended for two years.

The wave of departure from Cherrybelle members reached its peak in July 2015. At that time, six members of Cherrybelle Cherly, Felly, Gigi, Kezia, Ryn, and Steffy chose not to renew their contract with management. They eventually formed a new vocal group, Mabelle.

Practically the only Cherrybelle members at that time were Christy, Angel, and Novi. The three-person format only lasted not long. Three months later Cherrybelle had seven new members, namely Christy, Novi, Laela, Onad, Yoeriche, Miftah, Ellen, Muti, and Tata.

The entry and exit of Cherrybelle members continued to occur in the next few years. The reasons are various, some are because they want to wear the hijab, or because they want to get married. And in 2017 Cherrybelle was on hiatus for a while. Had survived with the format Christy, Onad, Muti, Tata, Atha, and Fisca. Finally they broke up too.

To treat her longing, the former Cherrybelle members appeared again to commemorate Cherrybelle's 8 years. There is something different from these former Cherrybelle members after 8 years on the air. Now they are married and have children.

On the YouTube account of one of the former Cherrybelle members Margareth Angelina, they answered the challenge of their fans to dance while carrying children.
