BPBD Monitors Mud-Mixed Gas Bursts At The Pekanbaru Ponpes
PEKANBARU - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Pekanbaru City, Riau, continues to monitor the development of gas bursts in the Al Ihsan Boarding School Islamic Boarding School, Tenayan Raya.
"We monitored the gas bursts for 24 hours to further increase awareness and avoid the threat of dangerous gas bursts so as not to hit residential areas," said Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of BPBD Pekanbaru, Bambang Rifai, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 9.
He said the boarding school students and teachers had been evacuated to the Kubang area, Siak Hulu District (the center of Al Ihsan Islamic Boarding School) and basic food assistance had been distributed by BPBD to the students on February 6.
"Our basic needs assistance is delivered to the board of the Al Ihsan Islamic Boarding School at the location of the gas burst," he said.
In the monitoring post there are also several institutions, including PT Kalila (the company that manages gas in Riau) and the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas).
PT Kalila and SKK Migas monitor the gas flow mixed with mud every hour. The expert team has arrived at the location.
"The coordinator of the monitoring team is the Head of the Riau Province Energy and Mineral Resources Service Indra Agus Lukman," he said.
Previously, the joint team of the TNI / Polri and the Tenayan Raya Sub-district, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, closed the location of the gas and mud bursts at the Al Ihsan Islamic Boarding School since Saturday, February 6 because it was feared there would be an impact due to the burst of hazardous materials.
"The closure was carried out by installing a police line that was extended to the entrance to the pesantren gate. Previously, the police line was only installed around the well that spewed gas and mud," said Tenayan Raya police chief AKP Manapar Situmeang.
