Frozen 2, The Unplanned Sequel

JAKARTA - The sequel to the film Frozen has aired in Indonesian theaters. Behind the magnificent production, this film produced by Walt Disney Productions has a number of interesting facts. Frozen 2 is still played by Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell as sisters Anna and Elsa. Although this film has a target market for children, but the first Frozen is gaining a place in the hearts of all people. Of course this makes Frozen 2 depend on the first film.

The production team is becoming more careful in making the sequels to ensure that Frozen fans are satisfied. Six years after the first film, Frozen 2 was made at the behest of directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. Yes, at Walt Disney Animation Studios there is no such thing as making a sequel if the filmmaker doesn't have the idea and desire to make it happen. So, Frozen 2 is the fourth sequel film and the first animated sequel to the production house.

Frozen 2 also departs from people's questions about what happened in the first film. One of them, where did Elsa get the power of ice from? That question leads to the ending of the Frozen story where Anna and Elsa reunite. Questions like this are then answered by the filmmaker through a sequel.

The story of the relationship between Anna and Elsa was made in the television series version, Once Upon a Time, which aired on the ABC channel. However, both Buck and Lee saw the series as just another side and had no connection with the Frozen 1 and 2 stories which were already complete stories.

The process of making Frozen 2 began when the two directors conducted research in Finland and Iceland in 2016. At that time they were amazed by the beauty of the country. The contrasting situation in the two countries then becomes the background for Frozen 2 where Anna lives in Finland while Elsa is in dark Iceland.

Selection of Weezer and Panic! At the Disco (P! ATD) in the soundtrack adds a new image to the film Frozen 2. If the first film was filled by singer Demi Lovato, now the pop impression is far away because Weezer and P! ATD still maintain their rock roots. For the Asian version, this soundtrack album is also filled by Wichayanee Pearklin from Thailand and Taeyeon from Korea.

In this film, Elsa (Idina Menzel) hears a voice from the north calling her name. Out of curiosity, Elsa looks for the origin of the sound and leaves their home in Arendelle along with Anna (Kristen Bell) and Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven. This trip also looks for the origin of Elsa's power and tries to protect the kingdom.

Frozen 2 can be watched in Indonesian theaters since Wednesday, November 20.
