BMKG Predicts Smoke Fog In Batam Until Sunday
BATAM - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Hang Nadim Batam City, Islands Province predicts smog in the area until Sunday (8/10).
"Tomorrow (8/10) morning until noon smoke is still predicted," said Head of the Class I BMKG Data and Information Section Hang Nadim Batam Suratman in Batam, Saturday.
He explained that there was a smog in Batam City because the current wind was blowing from the southeast.
"Because there are no reports of land fires in Batam," he said.

Regarding the visibility of the aviation sector in Batam City, it has decreased quite a lot, which is about 4.5-5 km.
"Usually 10 km. The further the horizontal visibility, the brighter it will be, the clearer it will be. Because now the weather is smoke, the lower visibility is or the smaller the visibility," said Suratman.
The Batam City Environment Agency said that the air quality in the area, Saturday, was an unhealthy category with an index value of the 111 air pollution standard (ISPU), so people were advised to wear masks when doing outdoor activities.
Head of the Environmental Protection Division of the Batam IP City DLH said the appeal was specifically addressed to people who have a high risk of asthma, the elderly, children, and pregnant women.
