BMKG: Beware Of Potential Floods Affected By Rain In North Sumatra

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded people in parts of North Sumatra to be aware of the potential for flooding due to heavy rains that flushed the area.

"Be aware of the potential for moderate to heavy rain on the East Coast, East Slope, Mountains, and West Coast of North Sumatra which has the potential to cause hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and landslides," said BBMKG forecaster Region I Medan Lestari Irene Purba, Saturday.

Based on data from BMKG, the weather in North Sumatra for the next two days in the morning will be cloudy on average.

In the afternoon and evening there is the potential for light to heavy rain in the North Sumatra region. Heavy rain has the potential to occur in the Karo, Dairi, Pakpak Bharat, Humbang Hasundutan, Central Tapanuli, Samosir, Toba, North Tapanuli, South Labuhanbatu and surrounding areas.

At night there is the potential for light to heavy rain in the North Sumatra region. Heavy rain has the potential to occur in the areas of Langkat, Binjai, Medan, Deli Serdang, Serdang Bedagai, T. Tinggi, Batubara, Karo, Humbahas, Sibolga, Central Tapanuli, Simalungun, P. Siantar, Asahan, Samosir, Toba, North Tapanuli, Padang Sidempuan, Padang Lawas, South Tapanuli and surrounding areas.

In the early morning there is the potential for light to moderate rain in the North Sumatra region. Moderate rain has the potential to occur in the areas of Langkat, Binjai, Medan, Deli Serdang, Karo, Dairi and its surroundings.
