Dave Grohl Doesn't Care What Kurt Cobain Will Think Of Foo Fighters

JAKARTA - Last February five, Foo Fighters released their 10th album, Medicine at Midnight. Not felt, that much already. But, has Dave Grohl ever wondered what the late Kurt Cobain thought about his new album, or the band in general?

The answer is no! But, Grohl really doesn't care what nearly everyone thinks of the music he makes. Grohl is a former Nirvana drummer who is now the vocalist and guitarist of his band, Foo Fighters.

In a recent interview with NME, which also featured drummer Taylor Hawkins, Grohl said he doesn't write songs to impress anyone. Except, a handful of people, all of whom are directly involved in the latest record.

When pressed whether he ever pondered Cobain's impression of the Foo Fighters, Grohl sternly stated, "No, I never - and I'll tell you why! For 25 years, that was something I was judged on from the start, you have to realize that this is very dangerous. You cannot make or judge anything by other people's standards. "

Grohl also shared that he was concerned about negative feedback when he first started writing music. Yes, the music he made ended up being Foo Fighters' first record which was released in 1995 and recorded in October 1994.

"It's funny because I kept this little project a secret for so long before I became a band, and one of the reasons was because I was afraid people would judge it," said Grohl.

He continued, it was a weird little demo recording and he felt uncomfortable sharing it with other people. There is a sense of security in keeping it to yourself because one of the reasons Grohl started Foo Fighters was to 'forget' the past (Nirvana).

"Foo Fighters really represents this survival because I don't want to live in that place (bad memories of Cobain's death) forever and I can't. I will suffocate," concluded Grohl.
