Without Pogba Sidelined For Several Weeks, Solskjaer Insists United Will Not Groan
JAKARTA - Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba had to pull out for several weeks due to a thigh injury. The injury was obtained when United drew 3-3 against Everton last Saturday.
The 27-year-old France international limped off the pitch in the first half of the game at Old Trafford and was replaced by Fred.
He will miss the FA Cup fourth round against West Ham United, as well as the Premier League games against West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United and the European League against Real Sociedad.
"This injury takes several weeks to heal," Solskjaer told MUTV. "He has just begun his recovery, working closely with the medical staff and we will be reinforced as soon as possible and as safely as we can."
"Paul has been very important to us and we don't want to take any risks. A few weeks for sure. You never want to get injured and especially now Paul has really found his form."
"We've been very healthy and strong over a long period, so we can't groan too much."
Meanwhile, goalkeeper David de Gea has been in the spotlight for his blunder against Everton. Dean Henderson may have started against David Moyes' team.
Henderson, 23, made 40 appearances on loan at Sheffield United last season but has only played for United 10 times in all competitions this season.
"Dean plays really well when he gets the chance. He's matured and for me he's made progress," Solskjaer told a news conference.
"I was impressed by his behavior and work ethic. He wants to play every game because he knows he will do well."
Solskjaer also stated defender Eric Bailly, who missed United's last five matches in all competitions due to injury, was close to returning to play.
