Allegedly Insults The South Sulawesi's Enrekang Regent Muslimin Bando, A Teenager Is Arrested By Police
ENREKANG - A teenager with the initials R (25) in Enrekang Regency, South Sulawesi was arrested by the police for allegedly spreading information about hatred and hostility towards the Regent of Enrekang, Muslimin Bando.
"The motive for spreading fake news that contains insults and defamation through electronic media," said Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Commissioner (Kompol) Supriyanto, to reporters Monday, February 8.
The alleged case of humiliation took place on Monday, November 30. The Regent of Enrekang Muslimin Bando did not accept that the perpetrator made news via online media which was said to have defamed him.
The suspected perpetrator was arrested by the Mobile Investigator Unit (Resmob) team on Sunday, February 7th, in Makassar City on Latimojong Street, Makassar District, Makassar City. The police secured a number of evidence belonging to the perpetrator in the form of cellphones.
The perpetrator was accused with Article 45A Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 Paragraph (2) or Article 45 Paragraph 3 in conjunction with Article 27 Paragraph 3 Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 Year 2016 concerning the Electronic Information and Transaction (ITE) Law.
