Airlangga Claims COVID-19 Cases In Jakarta Flat, East Java And Central Java Have Decreased
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto claimed that COVID-19 cases in a number of areas in Java and Bali had decreased after the implementation of phases one and two restrictions on community activities (PPKM) from January to February.
The provinces in Java, which he said had experienced a decrease in COVID-19 cases, were Central Java, East Java, Banten and DI Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, those that are still flat or stagnant are DKI Jakarta and those that have increased are West Java and Bali.
"Jakarta has started to flatten, then the ones that still have an increase are West Java and Bali. Meanwhile, Central Java, East Java, Banten, Jogja have fallen," said Airlangga in an online press conference broadcast on the BNPB Indonesia YouTube account, Monday, February 8. .
The belief is that a number of areas in Java and Bali have experienced a decrease in COVID-19 cases based on the level of bed occupancy. If before PPKM the figure was around 70 percent, now that number has decreased.
So seeing these conditions, the government then adopted a micro restriction policy whose approach was in residential areas. The goal is to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases according to President Jokowi's direction.
"Of course the goal of this micro PPKM is to suppress positive cases and mark a curve as a precondition for success for handling covid and for national economic recovery," said the Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN).
Previously reported, Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian issued Minister of Home Affairs Instruction Number 03 of 2020 concerning Enforcement of Restrictions on Micro-based Community Activities and the Establishment of a COVID-19 Handling Command Post to Control the Spread of COVID-19.
Through this instruction, there have been a number of changes including a change in the operating hours of a shopping center or mall which is now closed until 9:00 p.m. and a restriction on employees working in offices to 50 percent.
In addition, in this micro-scale PPKM, control zoning criteria will be carried out from up to the RT RW level starting from the green, yellow, orange and red zones.
