1 Metre Flood Surrounds 18 Districts In Indramayu, Affected Residents Are Still Evacuated
JAKARTA - Heavy rains that fell since Sunday, February 7, caused river water to overflow and flood 18 sub-districts in Indramayu Regency, West Java.
"There are 18 sub-districts that have been flooded, both in the Cimanuk and Cipanas river basins," said Acting Regent of Indramayu, Taufik Hidayat in Indramayu, as reported by Antara, Monday, February 8.
Taufik said that the local government had deployed officers to evacuate residents whose settlements were flooded.
"We are still evacuating residents and their valuables to a safer place," he said.
"We are still recording the houses that were submerged and there are no casualties," he added.
Floods have inundated residential areas since early morning on Monday, February 8 and created a flood of more than one meter high in several places in Indramayu.
