Marthin Saba's Music Career Tracks, Prita Laura's Husband, Who Died Of A Heart Attack

JAKARTA - The Indonesian music scene has again lost one of its best talents. Marthin Shaba died on Sunday, February 7, of a heart attack. Marthin is 50 years old.

Reporting from various sources, Marthin Enrico Saba - that's his full name - is a member of the Parahiyangan Voice Group (KSP). However, before being active with KSP, Marthin was active in singing in church with his brothers; Carlo Saba, Denny Saba, and Ivan Saba.

The four siblings then launched an album entitled Hidup Ini Indah under the name SABA in 2010. This album featured sweet soul R&B contours.

As for KSP, this group was formed from a campus community in Bandung in the late 1970s. There are 13 personnel. By taking the big band concept, KSP presented contemporary pop genre songs.

KSP has released three albums. The first album (1997) labeled self-titled (KSP) gave birth to the single Cinta. In May 1999, they released their second album, with the hit called Mimpiku.

After 13 years of vacuum, Marthin et al returned with a third album. They asked for a recycled song by legendary musician Fariz RM entitled Hasrat dan Cinta as the title of the album as well as the title track.

Carrying the name KSP Singers, in 2013, the singers from KSP then launched an album containing the works of Adjie Soetama and some of them were popularized by the late Chrisye.

Songs such as Aku Cinta Dia, Dan Cinta, Hip Hip Hura, and Cinta, were sung by Marthin Saba, Uchy Amyrtha, Kiki Juliar, Iyoq Kusdini, and Nana Janetri in a typical KSP style.

Outside of his musical life, Marthin was a religious man who was active in church activities. He married news anchor Prita Laura in 2007.
