Elon Musk Criticizes Boring Education System, This Is How It Should Be

JAKARTA - Elon Musk, openly stated that the internet has contributed to the learning process of his children. He revealed this in an interview recently.

The Tesla and SpaceX boss said that the internet has an important role in the education of his sons, including online forums Reddit and YouTube.

"I think there is still learning in school too, but judging by the time they spend online, it looks like most of their education actually comes from online," Musk said.

However, Elon Musk did not reveal more clearly what topics of discussion and types of viewing his children enjoyed. The richest man in the world added that now the internet has become a part of technology that is of interest to children, especially the emergence of video games.

Elon Musk criticized the education system today, he said that education must also be made as fun and interesting as it is on the internet.

"If kids can get very involved in video games, there must be a way for them to get very involved in education too," Musk said.

Elon Musk has seven children, one of whom has died, namely Nevada Alaexander (died), Griffin and Kai, Saxon, Xavier and Damian. As for the 7th child, Musk gave a quite unique name, namely X Æ A-12.

Ad Astra School

Musk's children are educated at Ad Astra, which the SpaceX boss founded himself. Uniquely, the Ad Astra school does not classify children as schools in general.

Children in this school are classified according to age. For children aged 7 to 14 years are taught to work together in teams. Not only that, the subjects presented in this school are different from other schools.

At the school founded by Elon Musk, children learn Artificial Intelligence (AI), applied science, coding, and design many things, one of which is making robots.

In the Ad Astra school curriculum, there are no sports, foreign languages and music subjects. For Musk, now foreign languages are no longer suitable to be taught in schools because today there is already real-time translation software. Such education is fairly natural for Musk's children.

Considering that currently Musk has been successful and has become a billionaire because of the technology company he has founded. The technology companies he started include Zip2, Tesla, SpaceX, Open AI, The Boring Company, and Neuralink. Elon Musk doubts the existence of traditional schools as reported by Business Insider.

Musk also teased the College. According to him, Higher Education is only a place to hang out with people of the same age before finally entering the world of work. He also added that Higher Education is only forging to accept various annoying tasks.

"I think College is basically a place to have fun and prove that you can do the tasks you're told to do, but it's not for learning," Musk said.

Because of this, Musk did not provide the requirements for having a bachelor's degree to prospective employees. According to Musk, companies that qualify for a bachelor's degree are "ridiculous."
