President Joko Widodo Opens XVIII XVIII HIPMI National Working Meeting
TANGERANG - President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo opened the XVIII Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) National Working Meeting (Rakernas) at Nusantara Hall, ICE-BSD, Tangerang, Thursday, August 31 morning.
The National Working Meeting entitled Young Entrepreneurs Collaboration Encourages the Sustainability of Indonesian Development to be held from 30-31 August 2023.
President Joko Widodo in his speech conveyed the strict competitiveness in the global market.
"Competition between countries is really very competitive both in fighting over the export market and fighting for investment," he said.
President Joko Widodo said Indonesia was lucky in terms of competitiveness because of the position of IMD Global Competitiveness Index 2023, Indonesia's competitiveness was ranked 34th, which in 2022 was ranked 44th.
"These 10 rankings are included in the highest category in the world because of the jump of 10 rankings," he said.
According to President Joko Widodo, Indonesia's competitiveness index is best in the infrastructure sector and business efficiency, as well as government efficiency. However, there is one assessment that exceeds all of them, namely economic performance.
"But the best thing is that economic performance is up 13 places from 42 to 29. We also need to continue so that our competitiveness index will be better so that when competing with other countries we have the ability," he said.
In this National Working Meeting, the BPP HIPMI work program for the 2022-2025 service period will be determined as well as give birth to various main ideas and recommendations for the progress of HIPMI and the Indonesian nation.
