Appreciation Of The Rowing Competition Situ Rawa Badung, Menpora Dito Will Inform The Sports Federation
JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito Ariotedjo attended the Rowing Boat Competition and Pillow War in Situ Rawa Badung, RW 13 Jatinegara Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, Sunday 27 August. This competition was held in order to enliven the 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.
Menpora Dito expressed his appreciation for holding this competition, especially the rowing competition. According to the Menpora, this rowing competition can be categorized as part of the Inter-Corruption Championship (Tarkam) which is being promoted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
"And this competition can be categorized as a championship between villages in rowing," explained Menpora Dito.
Menpora sees that this rowing competition still does not use a boat that should be used in rowing. However, according to him, this is not a problem, because it can still be a means of producing the seeds of rowing athletes. Moreover, DKI Jakarta DPRD member Judistira Hermawan who was present in this competition stated that he would encourage Situ Rawa Badung to become a local tourist destination for water games.
"I as the Minister of Youth and Sports are very supportive. And I try to try to provide information to the rowing sports federation to see this location, whether it is possible to use rowing activities. If this is revitalized, it could be a forum for rowing athletes," explained the Menpora.
Later, continued Menpora Dito, it will be seen whether the water conditions there can be further managed. Because if possible, it can not only be a place to practice rowing, but also a place for residents to practice swimming.
"So later it will not be a strange thing if the village can give birth to professional swimming athletes," said the Menpora.
Furthermore, Menpora Dito appreciated the enthusiasm of all RW 13 residents in enlivening this competition. He also invited the community together to keep it clean.
"What is certain is that from now on, don't throw garbage there, agree? Let's take care of it together," concluded Menpora Dito.
