PDIP Politician Responds To Ganjar's Issue Of Being A Vice Presidential Candidate: Far From Fire

PDIP politician Deddy Yevry Sitorus believes Ganjar Pranowo will not become a vice presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). There is no story that the white-haired figure will run as the number two person. This was conveyed by Deddy in response to the issue that Ganjar would be paired with Prabowo Subianto, who is a presidential candidate from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition. He said PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri had made her decision."“Mas Ganjar as a presidential candidate has been decided by Mrs. Megawati as the highest decision maker given by the congress," Deddy told reporters in Jakarta quoted on Tuesday, September 26.Deddy mentioned that there had never been a precedent in the past, Megawati suddenly withdrew the decision. Likewise, in the future, he believes Ganjar will remain the presidential candidate promoted by his party."“ There has been no precedent in the past and in my opinion in the future that Mrs. Mega will reverse her decision. Especially if it degrades what has been decided,” he said."So I think the issue that Mas Ganjar will be paired into a vice presidential candidate whoever I think is far from burning," continued Deddy.Previously reported, the Gerindra Party has also stated that it will continue to nominate Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Gerindra Party Deputy Chair Habiburrokhman said it was impossible for his party to make the Indonesian Minister of Defense (Menhan) a vice presidential candidate. Likewise, PDIP is unlikely to do the same."Yes, is it possible that PDIP can nominate Mr. Ganjar as vice presidential candidate, if we are clear that Mr. Prabowo will not be possible as vice presidential candidate and it is impossible that in one coalition there will be two presidential candidates," said Habiburrokhman at the DPR building, Monday, September 25.Habiburrokhman said that so far there have been no psychological obstacles between the two political parties. However, Prabowo could not be proposed as a vice presidential candidate for Ganjar and Gerindra also did not want to offer to PDIP on the grounds of political ethics."It's just a technical matter, if Pak Prabowo doesn't want to step down as a vice presidential candidate, this is the third time he has advanced and so on, it's impossible for Pak Prabowo to become a vice presidential candidate," he explained.
"We just have to see how likely Mr. Ganjar is to become a vice presidential candidate. We will not urge it, we do not even dare to offer it, yes, because we are afraid that it will be considered disrespectful," added Habiburrokhman.
