Indonesia Will Host The P4G Meeting In 2022
JAKARTA - Indonesia will host the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals (P4G) meeting in 2022.
P4G is a collaboration to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs), especially in the fields of agriculture, food, water, energy, sustainable cities, and a circular economy.
Reporting from setkab.go.id, this decision was revealed after President Joko Widodo received a visit from South Korean Environment Minister Cho Myung-Rae at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 25.
President Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of National Development Planning / Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahendra Siregar, at the meeting.
"He informed that Indonesia will host P4G in 2022," said Suharso in a press statement.
Initially the cooperation was initiated by two countries, namely Denmark and the Netherlands. Indonesia is one of the 20 countries that are members of it.
In addition, six international organizations and several international non-governmental organizations are also involved in this project.
Suharso added, in an effort to achieve the SDGs, Indonesia is considered to be good and can be an example. Even though the ranking is still low, Indonesia is strongly committed to achieving the SDGs.
"These countries assist us in accelerating several sectors in the SDGs that I mentioned earlier," he added.
Meanwhile, the South Korean Minister of Environment also extended an invitation to President Jokowi to attend the second P4G meeting in Seoul on 28-30 June 2020. The first P4G meeting was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 19-20 October 2018.
