Despite Losing 0-1 To North Korea, The U-24 Indonesian National Team Is Confirmed To Qualify For The Round Of 16 Of The 2023 Asian Games
JAKARTA - The U-24 Indonesian national team will certainly qualify for the round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Games despite losing 0-1 to North Korea.
The result of the match on Sunday, September 24 afternoon made Indra Sjafri's squad finish in third place in the final standings of Group F.
Indonesia's certainty of qualifying for the round of 16 is also inseparable from the landslide victory that Kyrgyzstan won over China Taipei with a landslide score of 4-1 which made them qualify as group runners-up to accompany the group winner, North Korea.
Even though they finished in third place in Group F, the U-24 national team still qualified for the knockout stages of the 2023 Asian Games. That's because Rizki Ridho et al are ranked first in the best third-placed standings with a collection of three points.
This is because Qatar, which is currently one of the best third places, only collects one point.
After qualifying with the status of one of the best third-placed ranks, the U-24 national team's steps were not immediately easy because after this they were actually waiting for a tough opponent.
In the knockout phase of the 2023 Asian Games football sport, the U-24 national team is scheduled to face Group C winners. Where Group C itself happens to only be filled with two teams, namely Uzbekistan and Hong Kong.
