JAKARTA - The Instagram account @halalcorner uploaded a post explaining the halalness of one of the butter which is often used as an ingredient in cakes, the Wijsman brand.

In Indonesia, people call it foreign tourist butter. Moms must often use this product to make cakes. What are the facts, is this product halal?

It is known, this Dutch butter comes from cow's milk fat which is traditionally processed, without the addition of chemicals in the production of this butter.

The account gets a question about whether foreign tourist butter is halal or not. According to his explanation, it turns out that foreign tourist butter has been declared a halal product.

"This Wisjman Butter is halal," wrote the @halalcorner account on Saturday, February 6.

The account explains that the Dutch halal agency Halal Feed and Food Inspection Authority (HFFIA) has issued a halal certificate to the butter with the Wijsman brand.

HFFIA is one of the institutions for the study of halal food that has been recognized by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). In his latest certificate, Wijsman still received the title of halal this year.

"Update the latest halal certificate validity period of the halal certificate May 31, 2021. They always update the halal certificate annually," he said.
