Tanzania Has Zero Cases Of COVID-19 Is Hoax

JAKARTA - Jon Arje's Facebook account uploaded an image that reads that Tanzania is the only country that has no COVID-19 cases. In the uploaded image, it was also stated that Tanzania had never conducted rapid tests or PCRs on the citizens.

"In Indonesia, COVID-19 is money", wrote Jon Arje's Facebook account.

However, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) stated that the information contained in Jon Arje's Facebook upload was hoax or untrue.

"In fact, the claim that Tanzania is free from COVID-19 is a hoax", wrote a statement from the Ministry of Communication and Information, Sunday, February 7.

Based on data owned by the World Health Organization (WHO), there have been 509 positive cases of COVID-19 and 21 cases of death in the eastern country of the African continent to this day.

"Meanwhile, the Tanzanian government actually requires all citizens to undergo a test for COVID-19", continued the statement from the Ministry of Communication and Information.
