Due To The Large Number Of Train Passengers, PT KAI Added 4 Units Of GeNose Test At Pasar Senen
JAKARTA - Thousands of prospective long-distance train (KAJJ) users have used the GeNose Test service at the station. The use of the COVID-19 test kit is in accordance with the Circular of the Ministry of Transportation Number 11 of 2021 which regulates the use of the Genose Test as a condition for traveling.
"Since it was first opened, for 3 days running there have been 2,580 prospective Long Distance Train (KAJJ) users who have used the GeNose C19 service at the station," said the Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Eva Chairunisa in a written statement, Saturday, February 6.
As of today, he continued, based on data up to 3:00 p.m. WIB, around 700 people had been checked with these devices at Pasar Senen Station.
Eva said, seeing the large number of passengers using the COVID-19 test with this tool, four units of GeNose Test were added. Thus, there are 10 devices operated for passengers departing from Pasar Senen Station.
PT KAI Daop 1 has also done a number of things so that the public can easily access this test equipment, such as making the GeNose inspection flow into three zones, namely the administration zone, the sampling zone or air bag filling, and the zone for providing test results files.
"All zones are regulated and separated by implementing strict health protocols," he stressed.
For prospective passengers who want to take the GeNose Test, they must show a long-distance train ticket or a booking code that has been paid in full along with an original identity card.
In addition, they are also advised not to eat or drink and not smoke 30 minutes before carrying out the sampling process by exhaling into the air bag.
Eva explained, how to take samples using air bags on the GeNose C19 service. First, take a deep breath in through the nose and exhale through the mouth three times.
Then, the first and second breaths are exhaled through the mouth with a closed mask. Next, taking the third breath is exhaled by blowing the air bag until the bag is filled with air.
Furthermore, after the air bag is filled, immediately press the blue valve to close the air bag. If the test results show a positive result on prospective KAJJ passengers, the officer will carry out temporary handling in the isolation room.
These passengers are not allowed to board the train and the ticket fee will be fully refunded and then directed to carry out further checks at the hospital.
"PT KAI Daop 1 also ensures that efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are also carried out in terms of station infrastructure and train facilities," he explained.
"All areas and devices that are vulnerable to being touched by many people are cleaned using disinfectant regularly every 30 minutes. We ensure that hand sanitizers such as antiseptic solutions and hand washing devices equipped with soap are always available and functioning properly," he concluded.
