Viral Photos And Videos Of The Corpse Of A Woman In Garut, Police: Stop Spread, Pity The Family

JAKARTA - The Garut Police have appealed to the public not to distribute photos or videos of the discovery of the corpse of a woman whose condition is appalling through social media because it will be threatened with 6 years in prison, as stipulated in the ITE Law.

"The whole community should no longer spread the video content of the discovery of a corpse in Wanaraja for violating the ITE Law," said the Head of the Public Relations Subdivision of the Garut Police, Ipda Muslih Hidayat in Garut, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 6.

He said that photos and videos of the discovery of a woman's corpse in the bushes around the Cimalaka River, Muncang Lega Village, Tegalpanjang Village, Sucinaraja, Garut, had spread in the community.

Muslih asked the public not to distribute the photos and videos anymore because they felt sorry for the families of the victims.

"We appeal to stop its spread, sorry for his family," said Muslih.

He said that his party had already processed the crime scene and knew the identity of the victim named Weni Tania, born in Garut, April 8, 2000, a resident of Central Ciloa Village, Sindangratu Village, Wanaraja District, Garut.

The victim's body, said Muslih, had now been evacuated to the hospital for an autopsy so that the cause of death could be determined.

"Yes, an autopsy at the Bhayangkara Sartika Asih Hospital Bandung," he said.

According to him, the police have not been able to conclude or other allegations related to the case of finding a woman's corpse by the river on Friday morning, February 5, because it is currently still under investigation.

"Currently, witnesses are being examined to gather further information," he said.

Previously, the victim was found in a pathetic condition, in which a bamboo stick pierced his buttocks, his body was swollen and caused an unpleasant odor.
